WORKSHOP PRICE:
This workshop is designed to benefit from world-renowed dr Philippe Benoit’s expertise and experience. Philippe will show you how to approach the horse’s neck and back examination and will discuss common conditions in these areas. After this course you will improve your decision making skills and feel more confident in looking at the horses overall performance.Katarzyna Żukiewicz-Benoit will share her vast knowledge of manipulation techniques, which are the essential tools in successful horse rehabilitation. The vet is the leader of the team, which is taking care of the horse and as vets, it’s very useful to know the treatments you can use with a physiotherapists to enhance the healing of the horse and help him return to top performance.
Afternoon practical sessions will be devided into 2 groups between Philippe and Kasia.
After a completed module, groups will switch.

Dr. Philippe Benoit since many years is taking care of the horses of french the team, competing in show jumping. Earlier as a french team doctor. IO in the years 1992 – 2000, now as a consultant, he cares about the health and the best form of elite sport horses during competitions, training and rehabilitation. Other national teams have benefited from his experience, including US and Saudi Arabia (the team doctor during the Olympic Games in London 2012). In 1989 he graduated from the Ecole Nationale Veterinaire d’Alfort, and two years later became a university teacher in the field of exercise physiology and nutrition of sport horses, being involved in several research projects conducted by the Ecole Nationale Veterinaire d’Alfort. Dr. Benoit founded Clinique Equine des Bréviaires in 1993. The range of services of the clinic is primarily orthopaedics, sports medicine, and internal medicine. Doctors working in the clinic have big experience in the prevention, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of lamenesses and „poor performance” syndrom. As a rider he won the French University Championship in eventing in 1991 and 1992 and was ranked the 5th place at the University World Championships. Philippe is very strongly associated with FEI (a member of the FEI Veterinary Committee) and the co-founder of ISHVA. Dr. Philippe Benoit prefers teaching in a highly interactive environment of open discussion and exchange of ideas. Every year he conducts many lectures and workshops around the world on topics related to lameness in horses, using ultrasound in orthopaedics as well as any other areas of sports medicine in horses.
Graduated from Warsaw University of Life Sciences in 2007.
Practice exclusively in the area of sport medicine, physiotherapy and acupuncture.
For the last 6 years sharing time between California and Europe, mostly following up competing horses.
Most of the patients are jumpers and dressage horses.
Helping enhance rehabilitation process at Trifecta Equine Athletic Center.
Also working with dogs (mostly orthopedic and geriatric patients) at Pearson Animal Hospital.
70% of cases are shared or referred by experienced equine orthopedics specialist and followed up in close cooperation.
In my practice I use manual therapy (chiropractic, osteopathy, myofascial techniques), acupuncture, dry needling, cold laser, functional electrostimulation (and other electrical currents), therapeutic ultrasound, kinesiotaping, stretching and proprioception exercises.
MORNING THEORY:
9:00 -10:30 Clinical evaluation and US examination of the neck and back
10:30-11:00 tea break
11:00-12:00 US guided treatments of neck and back
12:00-13:00 lunch break
AFTERNOON PRACTICAL:
13:00-15:00 Ultrasound exam from the “head to the tail”
15:00-15:30 – tea break
15:30-18:00 In Depth exam or cases with Philippe Benoit.
